Focus on Engineering and Product Testing

At the Hemel Hempstead Centre of Excellence Product Testing Laboratory, Test Engineers put various products (from electrical, construction, medical and environmental)  through their paces to ensure they measure up and are fit for purpose.

BSI, in partnership with the Bucks Skills Hub, would like to invite Year 9 students from Bucks schools to come and visit the Hemel Hempstead laboratories for an inspirational workplace visit. The day will consist of a tour of the different product testing areas and talks from key members of the teams there on career pathways at BSI.

To ensure we spread the benefit to as many schools as possible, it is suggested that schools select 5-10 students who perhaps deserve some recognition or reward, or have expressed a particular interest in engineering careers to attend on the day and then upon returning to their school, present their experience and what they learned to the rest of their year group.

This opportunity is available on a first come first serve basis, and if you would like some of your year 9s to benefit from this experience, please contact your Enterprise Coordinator at the Bucks Skills Hub.
