Expires Thu 13th December 2018

The Adecco Group is the world’s leading provider of workforce solutions, transforming the world of work through talent and technology. Each year, they provide over 1 million people around the world with multiple career opportunities. Within The Adecco Group, multiple brands offer clients temporary and permanent staff and candidates the opportunity to find the right work for them.

Alex Fleming, Managing Director of Adecco and Office Angels, is now leading an initiative whereby her team will offer at least 1000 days’ of work experience across the country throughout 2018, and we would like to extend this opportunity to your students. Please see Alex and colleagues talking about the work experience in this video.

The Adecco Group UKI 2018 Work Experience Programme from The Adecco Group UK and Ireland on Vimeo.

Combined research has shown that students who can recall more interactions with the world of work at school, including work experience, have a higher chance of moving into employment or training, and that work experience specifically is beneficial.  This is therefore a really valuable opportunity for your school to offer to students.

We are looking to roll out three different options, a one-day ‘work taster’, a three-day ‘work insight’ programme and a five-day ‘work experience’.

How do I apply for my school to take part?

If you are interested in taking part please fill out this online form and return to the Enterprise Coordinator who contacted you. We will then send further resources, including materials to help recruit students and connect you directly with staff members at the relevant Adecco Group office, who will then organise the logistics directly with you.

Where will the work experience take place?

Work experience will take place in Adecco and Office Angel branches and Adecco large client on site offices around the country, as well as Head Offices in Birmingham and London, which you can see on this map. Your school has been selected because of its proximity to one of these locations.

Has a suitable risk assessment been carried out for young people?

Yes – all branches have up to date and relevant health and safety policies and risk assessments have been carried out in branches. Students will receive relevant training during their induction.

When will the work experience take place?

The first cohort of work experience will take place during February half term 2018, however there is some flexibility around when you undertake work experience. Please indicate your preferences on the form and once you have been connected to an Adecco Group colleague, you can then discuss the dates that work best for you and your students.

Who can participate in the work experience?

The work experience is open to year 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

What will students do during the work experience?

The work experience programme has been developed between The Adecco Group and the Careers & Enterprise Company to ensure that it has young people at its heart, providing tangible outcomes and real benefit.

The Adecco Group believe everyone deserves a start, so they want to share their knowledge and experience, showing young people the way.

They understand that organisations value soft skills more than ever before, and they are passionate about preparing the workforce of tomorrow. Therefore, they will offer an experience that develops people as individuals.

The itinerary is shown below;

All work experience students will receive a welcome and introduction to the team designed to make them feel at home, health and safety briefings, an overview of The Adecco Group as an organisation, and objective setting for the work experience.

Depending on the length of experience, students can then choose from a ‘menu’ of activities and will receive a number of key takeaways, including:
