BSI Careers Inspiration Day | December | Focus on Engineering and Product Testing

BSI is the business standards company that equips businesses with the necessary solutions to turn standards of best practice into habits of excellence.

BSI has 76 offices worldwide and serves over 80,000 clients in 182 countries. Established in 1901, BSI was the world’s first National Standards Body and works with business experts, government bodies, trade associations and consumer groups to capture best practice and structure the knowledge all organizations need to succeed.

At the Hemel Hempstead Centre of Excellence Product Testing Laboratory, Test Engineers put various products (from electrical, construction, medical and environmental)  through their paces to ensure they measure up and are fit for purpose.

BSI, in partnership with the Bucks Skills Hub, would like to invite Year 9 students from Bucks schools to come and visit the Hemel Hempstead laboratories for an inspirational workplace visit. The day will consist of a tour of the different product testing areas and talks from key members of the teams there on career pathways at BSI.

To ensure we spread the benefit to as many schools as possible, it is suggested that schools select 5-10 students who perhaps deserve some recognition or reward, or have expressed a particular interest in engineering careers, to attend on the day and then upon returning to their school, present their experience and what they learned to the rest of their year group.

This opportunity is available on a first come first serve basis, and if you would like some of your year 9s to benefit from this experience, please contact your Enterprise Coordinator at the Bucks Skills Hub.

The BSI Kitemark™ Advantage

Exclusive to BSI, the BSI Kitemark is a quality mark that shows a construction product or service meets the applicable and appropriate British, European, international or other recognised standard for quality, safety, performance and trust.

This has helped their clients to differentiate themselves from their competition, to prove their product is reliable and safe, and gives them enhanced efficiency and trust in their products out in the marketplace.
