On a tour of Greatmoor, you will be able to experience a modern facility that processes non-recyclable waste and meet the people who work there.

Tours visit a viewing point over the waste bunker, and include the grab crane loading the waste hopper and vehicles delivering the waste. They then visit the control room, and learn about the different staff roles in managing a modern power station and waste facility.

This is followed by a visit to the grate, where the combustion zone is visible through a viewing window, then the turbine hall, and finally the condenser fans, which create an invigorating updraft of air.

Visits are available for Key Stage 2 upwards. Tours are suitable for groups of up to 15 students at a time, but if groups are larger than this then other teacher-led activities focusing on waste management are available
