Safeguarding young people on Work Experience

with No Comments

At Opps In Bucks we are currently working on a new project to give students a place to find work experience, part time jobs and apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. The aim of the project is to provide them with relevant opportunities for the types of careers paths they want to pursue in the future, by developing their skills in certain areas of work within an industry.

This project will be supported by Bucks based businesses who will be offering work placements etc to young people through the online platform, which is why we have located this useful resource from the Department for Children, Schools, and Families to help businesses understand how to safeguard young people who are doing any type of work related learning within their business.

The document from the DCSF explains when and under what circumstances a CRB check is required, and other ways that employers should approach offering work experience in the safest possible way to safeguard the young people and also anyone they may come in contact with throughout the placement.
