Health Education England are once again running their popular Year 12 health and care careers event on Wednesday 25 March 2020 in Buckinghamshire: venue to be decided, but either Aylesbury or High Wycombe.

Entitled ‘Your future in health and care – which way to go and how do you get there?’, the event aims to provide Year 12 students with:

  • Information to put them in a stronger position for job/course applications.
  • An opportunity to hear from a range of health and care professionals about their career journey and working life.
  • A chance to find out more about careers they may not have come across yet.

The following career groups will be represented either with stands, talks or workshops:

  • Nursing/midwifery
  • Mental health
  • Medicine
  • Care
  • Healthcare science
  • Allied health professions such as podiatry, radiography
  • Ambulance service

Students with a wide range of academic abilities and aspirations are invited to come along. This is not an event just for those who are looking for a degree pathway; the day will include information about other routes such as apprenticeships. Please do consider widening participation metrics when deciding who from your school or college will be attending.

Further details regarding available places and booking will follow soon, but for now, put Wednesday 25 March on your school careers calendar. Please contact tricia.hawkins@hee.nhs.uk at Health Education England Thames Valley with any questions.
