Silverson Machines is a world leader in the design and manufacture of industrial mixers. Proud pioneers of innovative technology, Silverson are passionate about investing in tomorrow’s engineers and as part of this have set an exciting engineering challenge for enthusiastic year 10 students. Selected students will work alongside the Silverson apprentices for 4 days to build a real machine based on supplied drawings, although tweaks and improvements will be encouraged! It is essential that applicants are resourceful, innovative, technical and practical. Once made, the machines will then be subjected to creative tests to ascertain which one is the most robust and/or performs best.

Terms and conditions: There is no charge for taking part. Steel capped boots and lab coats will be supplied. 10 places available. Closing date for applications Monday 23rd January 2017. There may be a telephone interview if required. All places to be confirmed by Friday 3rd February 2017. The management team’s decision on who takes part is final.
